WHO IS SHIHAN CAMILLE OHAN?

Born in the capital of Egypt in 1949, Camille Ohan joined the Wadi El Nil scouts at the age of 9. Every weekend, they would meet early in the morning and participate in a day filled with activities carried out with discipline and respect.

In addition to running, cycling, soccer, volleyball, reading and music, Camille was interested in fighting. His parents enrolled him in karate to provide a safe and disciplined environment for his practice. His training was almost always outdoors - nature was the real dojo. The sounds of birds, wind and water helped Camille to strengthen his concentration and discover breathing.

In 1967, Camille Ohan immigrated to Canada and obtained his Bachelors.

Testimony

"I have observed in Shihan Camille Ohan many personal qualities that go far beyond the basic qualities needed to provide good karate teaching. In addition to the teaching skills needed to manage the coordination of karate teaching, Shihan Camille Ohan has demonstrated a constant commitment to her mission, which aims at the personal and social development of the young people enrolled in her school.

According to Shihan Ohan, this development at the personal and social levels in young people is done by the transmission of knowledge from the master to the student, and, in parallel, from the parent to the child. Shihan Ohan considers that martial art can be an exceptional educational lever for young people in search of values.

For these different reasons, as a psychologist, university professor of psychology and psychiatry, and as a mental health researcher, I firmly believe that the FKCO karate school of Shihan Camille Ohan plays an essential and central role in the intergenerational transmission of knowledge.
